Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni has commenced installation of Instrument Landing System (ILS) at Yobe cargo international airport, located near Kalallawa, in Damaturu.

The ILS will help in providing cargo aircraft with horizontal and vertical guidance before and during landing and, at certain fixed points, indicates the distance to the reference point of landing. Its also contains combination of radio signals and high-intensity lighting arrays to enable a safe landing of an aircraft.
